PART 1: night time 

Before going to bed 

This is the last day of the challenge, but this doesn't mean that your growth ends here.

 

This is only the beginning of your learning journey, and this is why today's challenge is going to set you up for a lifetime of inner growth. 

Today you will learn how to adopt a superhero mindset.

The superhero mindset is a way to trick your brain into believing that you already are who you want to be. Tricking your brain is one of those things that sounds like it wont work, but the only reason why it would not work is precisely because you don't think that it can work.

If you don't believe in yourself, then I encourage you to believe in human nature, so that you give the superhero mindset a chance.

The superhero mindset is something that I have used for a long time, every time that I have a difficult challenge in front of myself.

 

It consists it taking the role of an actor, and allowing yourself to play the character of a superhero. Why a superhero? Because superheroes are awesome and they can do anything! They have superpowers and they save the world, so they are definitely as good as we can get.

The superhero mindset consists in telling yourself what a superhero would think. It doesn't matter if you don't believe the statement that you choose. Take off the pressure of believing it. You clearly don't believe it, otherwise you wouldn't be facing a challenge for which you need the superhero mindset. This is why this is an acting experience. Actors know that they are not who they are playing, but they still play the role, and they do it pretty well.

The magic behind the superhero mindset - and the reason why it works - is because we really are our own worst enemies. We feel fear because we doubt ourselves. We feel doubt, because we don't believe that we are capable of performing as we should. And we don't believe, because we don't think that we deserve to believe beautiful and incredible things about ourselves. It is that simple.

So when we try to convince ourselves of the contrary, we have to overcome all that chain of facts -  and this process is so energy draining that we fail half way.

 

But when we use the superhero mindset, we are bypassing all of that, and we don't even give our brain time to process the things that usually hold us back. So what happens is that we become the superheroes. 

So let's get right into it, with our last journaling session of this challenge!

** This goes for every journaling session: 

 

Take a pen or pencil and a piece of paper, and get ready to let yourself BE. 

 

I personally love to create a set-up that I am excited about. For me, this means searching on spotify for some relaxing meditation music (usually something without lyrics, to not be distracted or biased by them), maybe turning on a candle, getting some tea or coffee, and VERY important, sit comfortably. Find a position that doesn't make your back or neck hurt, so that you can write for as long as you need to. **

Today, I want you to answer what does your superhero look like? Combine in one incredible superhero, all the qualities that you would like to have for yourself. Basically, if you had a genie right in front of you asking you to choose what you would like to transform into, what would your answer be? Would you like to stop being afraid? Would you like to stop fearing other people? Who are these people? Is it your boss, your brother, your colleague? Would you like to be more efficient? Would you like to have more energy? 

Now, very important: Instead of writing the answers to this questions in the form of ''I would like to'', I want you to write them starting with ''I am''. Yes. Even if you don't believe it. Especially if you don't believe it. This is today's challenge and you are here so you just have to do it! I promise, it will be worth it. Don't be afraid to go over the top. Nobody is looking, and I am basically forcing you to do it. So just do it. Write what your superhero look like, in the form of ''I am''.

Now that you have finished journaling, take some time to acknowledge yourself for being brave enough to do this activity. 

 

Put your hands on your chest, take 3 deep breaths and say thank you. 

 

Talking to yourself as if you already are who you would like to be, doesn't give your brain much of an option other than turning you into what you are declaring. The biggest obstacle is actually your willingness to make these declarations. But as long as you declare, be prepared to receive. 

 

Now, put what you wrote somewhere safe, because you will need it tomorrow morning :) 

 

- For tomorrow morning -

 

Tomorrow, we will do some visualisation and meditation. All together, this will take 15min. However, save yourself some extra 15min to read the instructions.

 

In total, expect to use 30min of your morning. 

 

I know. You may have to wake up a little earlier than usual, but trust me, it will be worth it.

Good morning friend! 

 

Today we continue with our challenge, and it's time for some visualisation minutes. This exercise is quite simple and fun, but it is very effective. 

I want you to take out what you wrote yesterday in your journaling session, and take some time to read through it.

Now, read the next paragraph until the end, and then follow the instructions in it. 

 

Put on some relaxing/meditation music, set your timer to 5 minutes and close your eyes. I want you to visualise yourself being your superhero. Just enjoy being and feeling how you would like to be. Embody the superhero for 5 minutes. That's all you have to do. I am literally asking you to daydream of yourself.

MEDITATION

- For this activity, you can keep the same music that you used for your visualisation exercise -

 

In today's meditation, we will practice awareness of our magical being.

For some reason, we tend to believe that we are separate from nature. If you look at the universe, you will notice how there is so much beauty everywhere. Stars are simply magical. Our solar system is simply magical. The ocean is simply magical. Do you realise how silly it would be to think that everything is nature is magical, except for you? That makes no sense at all. So let's bring this knowledge to our meditation session.

Now, read the next paragraph until the end, and then follow the instructions in it. 

Put on some relaxing/meditation music, set your timer to 10 minutes and close your eyes. For today's meditation, I want you to think of yourself as a member of an incredible family, in which your dad is the sun and your mom is the moon. If you belonged to that family you would be incredible. Well you do - in real life - because we all come from the same source. Imagine streams of golden and silver light going from the sun and the moon into yourself. As you breathe in deeply, feel this magical light of wisdom travelling through your body. Whenever you get distracted and immersed in thought conversation, just take a new breath and see how your magical streams of light hug and dissipate your thoughts. Ready? Let's do it.

Be superhero-ish

Well done! Your morning practice is done and I am so proud of you. 

 

Now, I will just ask you to do one thing during the day:

Be superhero-ish. Remember the superhero mindset every time that you face a challenge. Remember that it's not about believing that you are the amazing things that you would like to be, it's about simply telling yourself that you are them. Just chill. Don't think too much about it. Just say it to yourself and own it like a proper actor/actress. 

I will ask you to set 3 reminders in your phone throughout your day. Maybe one at 11.00am, another at 1.00pm and another at 3.00pm, but this is completely up to you.

 

At these times, take 3 deep breaths and then say to yourself:

''I am ______, I am ______ and I am ______''.

 

Choose your favourite superhero qualities from your journaling session, and fill in the blanks above with them.

You have no idea how little is the amount of people that stick to this type of challenges from beginning to end. It is hard work and it requires a lot of commitment and discipline - and you have all of it!
